Privacy Policy for GarageLog

This Privacy Policy explains how GarageLog (“GarageLog,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the GarageLog mobile application (the “App”).

GarageLog is designed as a privacy-conscious vehicle management app that helps users manage vehicles, reminders, and documents such as insurance, PUC, and service records.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to users of the GarageLog mobile application published by Jimmy.

2. What information GarageLog handles

GarageLog may handle the following categories of information, depending on how you use the App:

A. Information you enter into the App

• Vehicle details such as make, model, registration number, fuel type, nickname, mileage, and vehicle type
• Reminder details such as due dates, due times, reminder preferences, and notification settings
• Document details such as document type, expiry date, file name, and file previews
• Feedback you choose to submit through the in-app feedback form

B. Files and media you choose to add

• Vehicle images you choose from your device library
• Document files you choose to upload, limited in the current app flow to supported image files and PDF files

C. App usage and analytics information

GarageLog uses Firebase Analytics to collect limited analytics information about how the App is used. This may include events such as:

• screen views
• vehicle creation or editing
• reminder creation
• document upload or update
• external document opening
• feedback submission
• settings changes

We use this information to understand feature usage and improve the App.

D. Device permissions and notification data

If you enable reminders with notifications, GarageLog may request permission to send notifications. If permission is granted, the App may schedule local reminder notifications on your device.

3. How GarageLog stores your information

GarageLog is designed to keep core user content primarily on your device.

This includes information such as:

• vehicles you add
• reminders you create
• documents you upload into the vault
• app settings such as theme preference and display name

GarageLog stores this data locally using on-device storage and a local database.

Uploaded document files are copied into the App's local storage area on your device so they can be managed within the App.

4. Information GarageLog shares with third parties

GarageLog does not sell your personal information.

GarageLog may share limited information with third-party service providers only as needed to support app functionality:

Firebase Analytics

GarageLog uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to collect app analytics and usage information. Google may process analytics data in accordance with its own terms and privacy policies.

Google Forms feedback submission

If you use the in-app feedback form, the feedback you submit is sent to a Google Form endpoint. If you include your email address or other personal information in the message, that information will be submitted as part of your feedback.

External apps used to open documents

If you choose to open a document in another app, GarageLog may pass the selected document to your device's operating system or another installed app so that file can be viewed. At that point, the handling of the file is also subject to the privacy practices of the operating system and the app you choose to use.

5. Why GarageLog handles information

GarageLog handles information to:

• let you create and manage your vehicle records
• let you upload and preview vehicle-related documents
• let you set reminder dates and optional notifications
• improve the App through analytics
• receive and review user feedback
• support app reliability, troubleshooting, and feature improvement

6. Permissions GarageLog may request

Depending on your device and how you use the App, GarageLog may request access to:

Photos / Media Library

Used when you choose a vehicle image from your device.

Files / Document Access

Used when you choose a supported PDF or image document to upload to the document vault.

Notifications

Used only if you choose to enable reminder notifications.

GarageLog is intended to request permissions in context, when they are needed for a user action.

7. Analytics and tracking

GarageLog uses Firebase Analytics for product analytics.

GarageLog is not intended to use your data for advertising and the Android build is configured to block the advertising ID permission.

Analytics data may include technical and usage information such as app screens viewed and app events triggered. We do not use GarageLog to serve ads based on your personal data.

8. Feedback submissions

If you submit feedback through the App:

• the content of your feedback is sent to our feedback collection endpoint hosted through Google Forms
• if you include your email address or other personal information in the message, we may use it to respond to you
• you should only include information you are comfortable sharing

9. Data retention

Because GarageLog stores core app data locally on your device, most of that data remains available until:

• you delete it within the App
• you clear the App's data
• you uninstall the App

Feedback you submit and analytics information processed by third-party providers may be retained according to those providers' policies and our internal operational needs.

10. Your choices

You can generally choose to:

• not add certain optional information
• not upload images or documents
• not enable notifications
• not submit feedback
• limit permissions through your device settings
• uninstall the App

You can also manage many permissions through your device's system settings.

11. Data security

We take reasonable steps to help protect information handled by GarageLog. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your device secure, including using device-level protections such as screen lock, biometric security, and platform security updates where available.

12. Children's privacy

GarageLog is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at jimmy.jose96@gmail.com.

13. International use

If you use GarageLog outside the country where Jimmy is based, your information may be processed in other countries depending on the third-party services used, such as Google services.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of GarageLog after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by law.
